How to Rock at Sales (Even if You Hate Selling)

When I start talking about sales with my clients, a lot of them stop the conversation and try to change the subject. The more I talk about sales, the more uncomfortable they seem to get.  Turns out, they just really hate selling.  When I asked one of my clients why they hated selling, they said this: “It feels dirty, like I’m a car salesman trying to sell someone a car way above their means“.  My other clients had similar responses. I did some snooping around online and found that many people (mostly women) felt that selling was either dirty or too hard (or both).  Sound like you, too? Because sales is a CRUCIAL part of your success at having a six-figure (and higher) business, I’m going to share with you three ways that sales can be a part of your business that doesn’t have to suck.  Way #1: Remember why you’re selling. Don’t think of selling as taking money from someone else. Think of it as helping someone else (and getting paid for it). Selling = Helping. As long as you’re honest with yourself and a potential customer, and you’re only selling them something they truly need and that can help them, then that transaction does not have to feel dirty. You are being paid to help someone else. And that’s 100% okay. Way #2: Choose your customers wisely.  Not all clients/customers are created equal and you want to make sure that the people you’re attracting to your business and that buy from you, are people you actually want to work with and can help.
