WHEN ARE YOU GOING TO STOP TRYING TO PLEASE EVERYONE? One big, HUGE, mistake that I made with my business was trying to make everyone happy. To do this, I had to pretend to be someone I’m not, just so everyone would like me. And I did this for YEARS. Too many years to even count. In fact, I probably did this for most of my life. Even though I said I didn’t care what people thought of me, I really did. And deep down, I wanted everyone to like me. I wanted everyone to see how perfect I was. Except that’s not what happened. Sure, I did end up with many people following me, many “fans” (I hate that word) that looked up to me, many people that wanted to BE me – But the problem was that they were seeing someone completely different from the REAL me. I said, did, even WORE what I thought other people expected and wanted from me with the hopes that they would like me. I didn’t speak my mind, I didn’t say what I wanted to say, I didn’t even stand up for myself when the situation called for it.
