Why? Because they don’t know WHAT they’re buying. You see, people aren’t looking to buy your next best thing, they’re looking for YOU. They want YOU. So often I see people selling me a program that will help me lose weight, a mentorship that will help me get more clients, a class that will help me grow my email list – But I don’t buy. And not because I don’t need and want those things, but because I don’t know WHO the fuck is selling to me. Sure, I can read about you on your ABOUT page (if you have one). I can see your pretty pictures and videos and even livestreams. Butif I don’t know who you REALLY are, I won’t buy. What do you really believe in? What do you stand for as a woman and business owner? What message do you really want to share with the world? It started out as a game. “Let’s see if this actually works”, I say to myself. This was after discovering the coaching industry and the coaches charging thousands of dollars to work with them. They were helping their clients with making money online - something that I had years of experience doing for myself and a few friends, but never even THOUGHT to charge people to help them one-on-one. But if others were doing it – Clearly they were onto something. Right? So I figured, “what the hell, I’ll give it a shot”. I already knew how to make money online. Like I said, I’d been doing it for years. How hard could it be to simply tell others how to do the same? Turns out – Not so hard. IF you can get the clients, that is. Because here’s something you won’t see on the fancy sales pages, in the emails, and on the professional 3-part video series’ – The TRUTH that getting clients doesn’t just HAPPEN. All these coaches make it seem so EASY to wake up to dozens of discovery calls and tens of thousands of dollars in sales every day. When I was young, one of the things that my mom always said to me was that I needed to find a “rich man” to marry. I needed a “rich man” to be happy. I needed a “rich man” to care care of me. I needed a “rich man” to provide for me. I needed a “rich man” to complete me. And while I was young, I believed her. Of course, boys were gross at the time, so I’m sure it was a challange thinking that I would one day need to marry one of those creeps. It wasn’t until I became a teenager that I realized I didn’t actually WANT to marry a “rich man”. I wanted to marry a man I LOVED. And I wanted to be the one who was rich! Not much has changed since then. I still want to be the breadwinner in our family. I still want to take care of myself. I still want to provide for myself. And I still want to do it all on my own. I want to do this because I know the POWER that I feel when I do. I know how incredible it feels to pay for something that I, myself, earned money for. I know what it’s like to purchase something without having to ask anyone else for permission to do so. I love that freedom. Let’s be honest – You know you were put on this earth to make a difference. You know you are here to share your message with the world, make an impact, and ultimately? Make some damn good money in the process. The problem is – You’re not doing it. And why? Because you’re scared? You’re not sure HOW? You don’t believe it’s possible? If there’s one thing I know about making money, it’s that it has to be FUN for me to do it, otherwise I want no part. It has to FEEL good and I have to be excited about it. I can’t just get excited about money, I need to be excited about HOW I’m making my money. What’s more than that – I have to figure out exactly what I need to do to make it happen. Because you and I both know that you aren’t just BORN with this knowledge on creating an EMPIRE. You have to learn how to do it. And so that’s what I am committed to doing, every day. I invest in mentors, I attend trainings, I do my own research. I test, I tweak, I figure it the fuck out. Because ultimately YOU are the creator of your life. And so you can choose to feel scared. You can choose to be lazy and not do something because you “don’t feel like it”. You can choose to never invest in your education. I woke up a bit later than normal today and even though I was behind schedule, I still got into the groove pretty quickly and accomplished almost everything I needed to, and it got me to thinking that having a solid morning routine in place has really helped to streamline my life, accomplish more, and end the day on a good note. I thought I’d share what my mornings look like these days with the hopes that it will inspire you to incorporate a morning routine in your life. Because I’m not kidding when I say that having one is the BEST thing I did for my productivity! Every morning I’m up around 5am and the first thing I do is open up my journal and write – My intentions for the day (how I want to feel, money I want to receive, what I want to sell) My dream life as if I’m already living it (personal AND business stuff) Some of my money tracking (my net worth, cash received the day before, cash saved the day before, debt paid the day before) At least 10 things I’m grateful for (I’m currently doing a new gratitude practice where I’m also writing out WHY I’m grateful for these 10+ things) I will also journal about things that are upsetting me, scaring me, frustrating me, etc. - and will ask myself questions about why this is happening and what I should do to get on the right track again (esentially coaching myself while I journal!).
