People always seem to think I’m super organized and I just wish they could see that’s REALLY going on behind the scenes. That I DON’T have it all together (no one does).
Maybe I look put together from the outside looking in, but in reality, my life is messy and chaotic and all over the place. (And if I’m being honest, that’s exactly how I like it!)
I never cross everything off my daily to-do lists
I always forget things that I need to buy, do or say
I can’t keep my house clean for more than 24 hours
My accountant gets pissed at me every year because my tax papers are never organized
I rarely tackle every task that needs to be tackled each day
I let projects sit until they’re due the next day, and then I work under pressure to get them done in time
And though I may look as though I’ve got it all together, I can assure you that I absolutely do NOT.
WhatI do have, though, is determination, drive and FOCUS, three things that have allowed me to build a multiple six-figure business in just MONTHS, doing work I absolutely adore.
So, although my life is crazy and messy, and I always have a million things on the go at once, I still get my shit done, make an impact and make amazing money. I can do this because I know what to focus my time and energy on.
You see, most people don’t have a clue how to get (and stay) focused. They either get overwhelmed by an insanely long to-do list and give up before starting (therefore, getting NOTHING done),or they spend their time working on all of the wrong things, which leads to minimal profits for maximum hours.
What you want is MAXIMUM PROFITS for MINIMAL HOURS, meaning: You want to make money as fast as possible. I don’t mean you should work less, I mean you should work smarter. And you do this by focusing on your most important tasks before doing anything else.
6 TASKS YOU NEED TO FOCUS ON EVERY SINGLE DAY
#1 - Mindset (journaling, meditation, visualizing, mantras - whatever feels right for you)
#2 - Messaging (sharing your true message with the world, what you believe in, what you stand for)
#3 - Content Creation (creating new content for your communty - either free or paid, or both)
#4 - Lead Generation (sharing an opt-in, setting up a new Facebook ad, creating a new lead magnet, etc.)
#5 - Sales Activities (creating a new offer, follow up, personal outreach, setting up a sales funnel, etc.)
#6 – Community Growth & Engagement (getting new people into your community + engaging with those that are already there)
These are your must-do tasks for each day. They’re important because they will help you to grow your community and make money quickly. Therefore, you need to focus on all of them daily.
I always make sure to get those 6 things done, and if there’s still time left in the day, I will do more. If there isn’t, I won’t, but I’ll still have accomplished my most important tasks, so I feel great about my day. (And to be honest with you, most days I only do those 6 things, in addition to working with my clients!)
Although my life is chaotic, I’m still successful because I know what to focus on and I know how to STAY focused and really set strong intentions for my day. Focus is what allows me to accomplish what is important (tasks tied to income-genetation).
A lot of the time I ignore everything on my list that is not in my list of Top 6 Must-Dos.
And that’s okay, because eventually it gets done. But not before I tackle my most important list.
When you run a business, there are a million and one things you can be doing on a daily basis. And the sad thing is, most days you’re spending time on the wrong things. Tasks that may be necessary to get done, but tasks that aren’t making you money right then and there.
And let’s be honest, if you’re not making money every day, you’re not running your business properly. You can fix that with focus. Extreme focus on the things that are most important. Don’t let overwhelm stop you from accomplishing what needs to get done!
One of the biggest reasons people fail at business is lack of focus. Not knowing what tasks they should spend their time on, and HOW to spend their time on those things wisely, so that they get more done and achieve way more.
