Let’s be honest.
There are some people who just ain’t cut out for a life of entrepreneurship. It’s played up as a luxurious type of “job” to have, where the perks are a’plenty, and while that’s certainly TRUE, what is often left out of the picture is this:
Years of constant hustle, where you feel like you’re always “on” while building up your business.
Months of preparation that lead to failure in regards to a project or idea.
Family and friends that repeatedly call you crazy, unrealistic, irresponsible, for dreaming as big as you do.
Tens of thousands of dollars spent (if not MORE) on learning from the best (or as close to the best as you can find).
People who doubt you, who talk mad shit behind your back, and who laugh when you tell then what you dream to do.
Feeling alone more times than not; like you’re a constant loner and doubting the ease in which you can make friends (friends? who has time for friends?).
Sacrificing something you don’t wanna sacrifice (a clean house, money, time, sleep, getting dressed) for the benefit of working on your business.
When you look at a successful entrepreneur, you see the outside, world-friendly version of that person. You see the money, the freedom, the people they’ve hired, the stuff they’ve bought, the trips they’ve taken… you see the Instagram Entrepreneur.
What you don’t see is the sleepless nights, where we can’t get a single solid hour of sleep without worrying about WTF we’re gonna do about whatever problem we’re dealing with at the moment, or because the passion is so damn strong that you MUST. TAKE. ACTION. NOW.
What you don’t see is the ways in which we are constantly ridiculed, constantly put down, constantly taken advantage of, constantly reprimanded for going after our dreams.
What you don’t see are the days on days, weeks on weeks, where we sit alone in our living room, click click clicking away on our laptop keyboards, writing and creating and selling and learning and implementing and repeat repeat repeat.
What you don’t see is the bank accounts with negative balances and the credit card companies calling, asking for their money, because you’ve been igoring your bills for months, putting every cent you can get your hands on into your business.
What you don’t see is us working on weekends, at 2am while the world is fast asleep, on Christmas day, during family holidays, while we’re pregnant or breastfeeding, at the park while our kids play, on overnight flights when everyone else is sleeping…
What you don’t see are the countless hours we spend on our business. How many times we fail, get back up again, start from scratch, build and build and build and build.
What you don’t see is the passion.
What you don’t see is the determination.
What you don’t see is us screaming profanities when that thing that we did (that we thought would be THE thing), doesn’t actually work the way we wanted it to.
What you don’t see is the whole picture.
What it actually TAKES not just to be an entrepreneur, but to be an entrepreneur who MAKES IT.
And sadly, no, most people don’t have what it takes to live this life. Most people don’t have the GUTS to do what we do.
I’m always excited when I get to know someone new and discover that YES, THEY GET IT, THEY GET ME, THEY GET THIS!
They understand when I say that I don’t wanna go out, I’d rather stay home and write.
They understand when I say I want to book an Airbnb just to take selfies in a different location (fave thing to do, honestly).
They understand when I say I just invested $40,000 in a mentor for 6 weeks and don’t question my sanity.
It makes me feel good to know that I’m not alone.
That my crazy is complimented by your crazy.
That my ideas seem small compared to the ideas of those in my circle.
That being massively wealthy is not seen as weird or selfish or greedy, but as normal and necessary and good for the WORLD (and therefor a REQUIREMENT).
You’re not alone.
If you’re feeling like you’re the only one who has the “crazy” ideas that you do, this is not true.
If you’re feeling like no one understands you, this is not true.
If you’re feeling like you’re alone and no one “gets” you, this is not true.
You are not alone.
You are not alone.
YOU ARE NOT ALONE.
The crazy ones, the weird ones, the ambitious ones, the rebellious ones… we’re right here with you, constantly jumping in, making moves, getting knocked down (and right back up again), doing the work we know we were born to do (even if no one around us seems to “get it”).
It takes strength to do what you do.
It takes guts. It takes passion. It takes tenacity. It takes commitment.
Give yourself some damn credit. You’ve earned all that you’ve received, and you are worthy of receiving more - all of it, everything you desire, and then some.
Just ask for more.
Allow yourself to receive more.
Expect to receive more.
And then, of course, you will, and you will shake your head and wonder why you made it so freakin’ hard on yourself in the past.
Don’t forget –
You really can be, do and have EVERYTHING you want. Say YES to you and take action now!
xx,
Cassie
