I used to believe that in order for me to make money I had to do a bunch of boring shit that I hated, and in order for me to make A LOT of money, I was confident that I’d have to sacrifice in a big way.
I thought I had the answer to success: First you do the work, then you make the money. The harder you work, the more money you will receive.
From a young age, I knew that I wanted to be what I would now call “beyond wealthy” (so wealthy that you can do and have anything, any time, with zero restrictions).
I knew that I WOULD be beyond wealthy. I just didn’t know HOW. Until I discovered the “secret” (which wasn’t really as a secret, as EVERYONE and their mother was preaching about it) - work harder.
Work hard, make money.
Work harder, make more money.
Work harder still, make even MORE money.
And on and on.
I decided I would work hard, and then harder, and then harder still.
And the money came, yes it did, but do you want to know what happened next?
It came in small little piles here and there. Nowhere near what I was expecting to receive for the amount of time I was spending “doing the work”.
I was spending upwards of 20+ hours per day on doing the work. (Seriously. I rarely slept.)
I was writing, posting in Facebook groups, selling, creating new opt-ins, creating landing pages, updating my website, contacting people to have me on their podcast/blog/as a guest expert in their FB group, setting up Facebook ads, shooting videos, promoting my offers, posting on Instagram..
I even experimented with postng on Twitter EVERY HOUR of EVERY DAY.
I was doing all the things, all of the time. And then money trickled in.
I did have some big months, and I am damn PROUD of the fact that I was able to generate over $1 million dollars in less than 3 years, in an industry where I was brand-freakin’-new, but it was not what I was expecting.
Let me tell you something that I wish someone had told me back in 2015 –
Just because you work more or work harder, doesn’t mean you will make more money.
In fact, I’m willing to bet that the more you work, the LESS money you make, because you’ll be so damn overwhelmed and over-tired that you can’t actually do your BEST work (which will always result in more money/success), and you’ll also, quite simply –
Be out of alignment.
What’s in alignment for you, for me, for all of us, is this –
MOTHERFUCKING EASE.
You don’t need to work 20+ hours a day to make incredible money, have an impact in the world, and do what you love.
I’ve learned this the hard way.
I don’t regret what I did. I had to learn somehow.
You’ll see a lot of people online preach about “doing the work”, but what many fail to mention is that working more doesn’t equal more money / better results.
Working more doesn’t guarantee you will hit your goals. Working more doesn’t mean you’re gonna get what you want.
Doing the work is this –
Showing up every day and sharing your truth.
Showing up every day and selling what you’re passionate about.
Showing up every day and engaging with your tribe and those who are just like you (to encourage people not in your tribe to come and hang with you).
Showing up every day doesn’t mean doing a fuck-ton of STUFF every day.
Wanna hear something funny?
As soon as I ditched the “stuff”, and spent less time “working”, the more I attracted high-vibe quality peeps into my tribe, and the quicker (and easier) I manifested large amounts of money (consistently).
I learned over many years of doing this work, what WORKS, and what doesn’t. Doing “stuff” doesn’t work. What works is being yourself, and sharing yourself (and your courses/programs/things) with the world.
How long this takes?
Well, I mean, it’s an all day, every day thing because you’re you all of the time - can’t stop being you! But as far as “working”, doing STUFF, is practically no time at all.
People comment all the time that it “must be nice” to have so much free time every day, because I suppose it appears that I do nothing, hahaha!
Little do they know that the stuff that appears like nothing to them is the stuff that makes me the most MONEY and has the biggest impact in my business.
This is what I’m trying to say:
Stop doing “stuff” (the things that you hate doing, and that don’t actually move the needle in your business whatsoever).
Start being more YOU and sharing more YOU with the world.
Talk about what you’re selling more. Tell people why it’s awesome and why they need it and how it will help them.
Give immense value (you do this by sharing consistently, as you go throughout your day).
This is when you’re going to be able to drop into flow, into alignment, into ease, and into RESULTS & MONEY, HONEY!
It’s easier than you think.
xx,
Cassie
