I know. You’re probably thinking that subject line was click-bait, huh? Except it’s not. It’s completely true! Everything I know about business I learned from porn! When I worked in the adult industry from ’99 until the early 2000’s, I was pretty much the black sheep in my family. In fact, I guess I still am the black sheep, except today people also understand that I know what the fuck I’m doing and they just leave me be, HA! I remember being embarassed about it at first. Like I didn’t want people to know what I was doing.. except.. I was GETTING NAKED ON THE INTERNET, so it was only a matter of time until people found out! Needless to say, my family wasn’t too impressed (my mom, who I was still living with at the time, even shut off the internet, thinking that would stop me - but I just went to friends’ houses and used theirs). I went on to build a pretty successful business in the adult industry, making thousands of dollars a month just being me. It was my first glimpse into what wealth truly was and what it felt like. There are certain things you must do every day if you want to grow your community, make an impact and increase the amount of money you earn. And the problem is that most people either don’t do these things, or don’t do them consistently, which of course leads to failure to some degree! And we can’t have that, now can we? If you’re going through the day without a list-of must-do tasks either written down or in your head (or both, ideally!), you are likely to forget something important, which will sabotage your success in a big way. So my question to you today is: “What have you done today?” What have you done to increase your income? What have you done to grow your community? What have you done to share your message? It blows my mind when I follow someone new and I check out their social media profiles and notice they AREN’T SELLING ME ANYTHING. I mean… aren’t you in BUSINESS? I want to learn from you and all you’re providing me with is your once a day FB post update that isn’t even truly THAT helpful? Where’s the course? The workshop? The mentoring? The classes? The programs? LET ME BUY FROM YOU! I want to buy from you! I used to be of the belief that the more you sell, the more of a selfish asshole you are. I have since moved over to the other side of the coin: You’re a selfish asshole if you’re NOT selling! Think about it: You have all of this knowledge inside of you. You know exactly how to do something that someone else has no clue how to accomplish (but wants to). Just by opening your mouth and speaking, you can help someone. And you’re choosing NOT to? Really? That, right there, is the definition of a selfish asshole. 🙂 And I know what you’re thinking.. “But Cassie, I do help my community! I just don’t charge for it. What if – Instead of focusing on what you don’t have, you focus on what you want? What if you decided that you were just gonna go for it – And then you did? Do you think miracles would start happening for you? Do you believe your life would be better off? Do you trust that everything you want would be provided for you? Because let me tell you: Once you let go of the bullshit excuses that are holding you back and you allow yourself to simply go all in and chase what you want, you WILL get it. There’s just no other outcome that is possible. Take a look at all of the successful people you admire and look up to. I am willing to bet that they actively chased down every single thing they ever achieved. Successful people don’t wait for any handouts. They GO AFTER WHAT THEY WANT. With everything they’ve got. They dedicate their life to their dreams. And that’s what you need to do, too. You need to commit to what you want, and then dedicate your life to making it happen. Instead of worrying about exactly what to say and how to say it, how about you just say something? Anything. Just let the words out! Because there ARE words inside of you. The problem is – You refuse to let them out unless they’re polished, and sound just right, “make sense” and paint you as someone who’s perfect. Except here’s what’s really important to understand: PEOPLE DON’T LIKE PERFECT! Perfection will often intimidate people and it will be hard for you to build a strong connection and relationship with them. And as I’m sure you know: relationships are everything when building a business (well, in LIFE, in general!). This is the reason most people are “star struck” when meeting a celebrity, and why they often can’t hold a decent conversation with them. They’re overwhelmed. They feel inferior. And so they mumble, they say stupid shit, or sometimes they can’t say anything at all! These celebrities are put on a pedestal and, in your mind, are someone you could never be. And it makes you feel like shit, right? It’s not “inspiring” It’s not empowering You just feel “less than”. Like you’re not as good as they are. Like you could NEVER be as good as they are. That’s how your community feels when you pretend to be perfect for them.
