In my first month as a coach, I made $0. In fact, I was in the hole $6K because I’d spent that on my mentor. By the end of the year, I’d received over $250,000. In my very first year in a brand new business, in an industry where I was a complete unknown. This didn’t happen because of luck. It also didn’t happen because I worked my ass off (although I definitely did do that). It happened because I hired someone to show me how to (in her words) shorten the learning curve, so I could make money faster. Working with a coach was exhilarating. Knowing that I had someone to call on when I had a question or needed feedback (which was almost daily back then LOL) felt SO damn good. But hiring her in the first place is the scariest thing I’ve ever done in my business. Hiring a mentor was something I knew I needed to do in order to get fast results and make money quickly (I’m not one to wait around - I want results FAST), but something that really terrified me. The thought of that coaching “not working” was at the top of my mind. I was worried that it wouldn’t work for me. I was worried that no one would pay me. I was worried that I’d have to work 24/7. I was also secretly worried that it was all a big ol’ scam, like my family tried to warn me it was. I’m so fucking thankful that I trusted my gut. That I said YES to hiring a mentor, even...

I’m going to tell you something that you may not want to hear. I definitely didn’t want to hear it when I was first told this. Yet - it needs to be said, and it needs to be HEARD. By you. By everyone who is either working with a coach currently, or about to hire one. This is the absolute truth: Hiring a coach is not a get-out-of-jail-free card. Hiring a coach because you think that by doing so will somehow magically SAVE you, is a mistake. A costly one. Your coach? Her job is NOT to save you. It’s not to give you a little map to follow and if you do so, you will 100% guarantee you get the result you want. This is not possible, because your coach is not you. Only you can do the work. Only you can fully commit. Only you can believe in yourself. Only you can trust. Only YOU can get the results. I used to be so terrified when I’d start working with new clients, because I would accept responsibility for their results, when it was not my job to do so. I now see that I was doing these clients a huge disservice by not giving them what it was they really, truly needed - which was motivation, encouragement, and support. I didn’t need to tell them how to do THEIR work - THEY ALREADY KNOW. I also didn’t need to give them a list of stuff they had to do in order to GET _____ result because some of those things wouldn’t have felt in alignment for them,...

You never know just how much you’re helping someone you never know just how much you’re helping someone You just never know how many people are following, reading, learning, consuming, and growing, from the content that you share every day. It may seem like no one’s listening (especially if your engagement is low), but I can promise you that there are more people paying attention than you think. Often, I find that many people who buy from me for the first time say something along the lines of “I’ve been following you for years”… meaning they’ve followed, read, learned, consumed, and grown, from the content I’ve shared for years before they ever bought anything. If I’d stopped after a few months because no one was buying, that sale would have never come through. Not everyone is going to wait years before they buy from you, of course. Some will buy straight away. Many will buy shortly after finding you and getting some kind of value from what you’re sharing. The point, though, is to KEEP ON SHARING. Because you never know just how much you’re helping someone. Lack of likes or comments or responses to your work, doesn’t mean it’s bad or that no one likes it. There will always be those who consume in silence. Who get value from what you share, but who never engage or say anything. Until one day, they hover over that “buy now” button, and they do, in fact, BUY. Keep showing up. Keep sharing. Keep selling. Because you just never know when that day will...

Do you want to get paid? Then you’d better get used to selling! I’ve heard from so many people that they don’t want to sell “too much” because they’re afraid their community will think they’re – Too salesy Too pushy Too annoying Too desperate I used to believe this crap too, for way too long, and my income reflected this. Now, as I sell all day, every single day, unapologetically, I make so much more money that people are still shocked when they hear me say the numbers out loud. And I’m not even close to where I want to be yet. My point is this – If you want to make more, you need to sell more. But at the same time, give VALUE when you sell. You can’t just show up every day and constantly shout at people to “buy my thing, buy my thing, buy my thing!”, because that, in fact, IS salesy, pushy, annoying and comes off as very desperate. Instead, what you want to do, is along with you SELLING all day long, you’re also giving VALUE all day long. Any type of free content you can put out there, you need to do it. Daily. No excuses. Blog posts Emails Videos Podcast episodes Interviews Instagram Stories Twitter tweets Pinterest pins Instagram photo or video Content is KING, it’s always been king, it will always be king. Which means you need to make content a priority every single day. I schedule a minimum of 60 minutes a day on paid content creation and free content creation. I also show up throughout the day, as...

OMG…. Did I really just say that? Did I really just tell you that you should sell more than one thing at a time? Why yes, yes I did. Want to know why I’m suggesting this? BECAUSE IT WORKS, THAT’S WHY. I know, I know. You’ve been told by many people that selling too many things at one time will confuse your audience and then -GASP- they won’t buy anything at all because they will be so overwhelmed and unsure. I’m here to tell you that what you’ve been told is bullshit. Not only is selling multiple things at once easy to do, it’s also more effective. Meaning, more people buy from you. THE MORE YOU SELL, THE MORE YOU MAKE. And not just of the same offer, either. When you’re only selling one thing over and over, people get bored of it. You get bored of it and the energy fades. THAT is what stops people from buying. On the other hand, when you’re selling a few different things at once, you are giving people VARIETY. And variety is the spice of life, baby! Your community wants variety. They want a handful of choices and they want to pick the one that suits them best in that moment. Selling more than one thing at a time is beneficial for a variety of reasons, including – >> Your audience doesn’t get bored of your offer >> YOU don’t get bored of your offer >> You give people options and THEY get to make the decision on what you buy (we all like to feel as though we’re in charge,...
