Here’s something NOT to do when you’re trying to sell something

The way people do business these days just astounds me, and not in a good way. 

Almost daily I’m receiving messages from people trying to shove their products and services down my throat. People I’ve never spoken to before. I’ve even had people go as far as telling me about them and then they ask about ME, what I do and all that.

Why the fuck are you messaging people that YOU DO NOT KNOW and trying to sell them shit?

I get that you’re trying to be more visible
I get that you’re just trying to be proactive
I get that you just want to be taking action

But this is the WRONG way to go about it.

I commend anyone that is taking action in their business. And I do think one of the best ways to grow your business and make more money is to build solid connections with people. There is honestly nothing wrong with reaching out to people just to build a connection.

But KNOW who you are reaching out to, or at least know OF them. And please stop trying to sell something or promote yourself in your very first connection with someone.

I promise that that strategy always ends badly.

You get to decide how you spend your day, how you take action and market your business. And there are many, many ways to do that marketing, make an impact and make MONEY. Ways that are crazy fucking effective if done correctly.

Let’s try a fun exercise today – 

Pretend you have to come up with $5,000 in the next 72 hours. 

Write down a list of 20 different ways you could make that money. These need to be things you can implement right away, since you need to come up with the money quickly. 

Circle 3 of the most viable options and then TAKE ACTION on them today, keeping the goal of $5,000 in your mind at all times.

Now, as someone who’s been marketing herself online for 12 years, I know how to bring home a bunch of cash very quickly, whenever I need or want to. And it usually starts here – 

SELL. ALL DAY LONG.

I don’t mean put up a sales post and then you’re done. There’s much more to it than that. If you really want to make more money, you need to sell ALL THE FREAKING TIME – 

  • Sales email
  • Value post on Facebook page or in group
  • Tweet on Twitter
  • Snap on Snapchat (multiple)
  • Story on Instagram (multiple)
  • Follow up with potential client
  • Post on Instagram
  • Personal outreach (with people you KNOW and who know you)

There’s lots you can do, the point is just to SELL MORE. Don’t be afraid of going overboard. There IS no overboard. As long as you are attaching VALUE to your sales messages, people aren’t going to be offended by you selling all the time (if they even notice at all).

Get out of your comfort zone. Stop playing it safe, trying to please everyone. Quit walking on eggshells.
