As another $17,000 payment was deposited into my bank account just now, I realized something that I’ve never given much thought before:
Money is not what I want.
What I want, is the emotion of money, the value of money, what I can actually DO with money, the freedom that comes from having money.
Money is not the goal.
It is a means.
But it is not THE goal.
And I also realized that one of the main reasons I receive so much money each month, is because I don’t actually want it! I mean.. I do WANT it, but not for the sake of having a stack of bills and coins in my posession, but for the purpose of changing my life and the lives around me for the better.
You know when you’re single and you’re trying to find a partner, it feels like the more you TRY, the harder it gets? And when you finally say “fuck it”, and stop trying to find someone, your perfect someone just shows up, seemingly out of nowhere?
This is exactly how it works with money (and everything).
The more you stop TRYING to receive money, the more easily money will FLOW to you. And it won’t feel hard at all. The only thing you will feel is EASE.
I’m not saying to avoid setting money goals and asking for money, I’m saying to set the goal, ask for what you want, and then BACK THE FUCK AWAY. Because what typically happens when you set a goal (“I’m gonna receive $30,000 this month!”) your brain automatically asks “How?” and you start to come up with all of these elaborate plans around where the money will come from.
Which may be exciting at first - the possibilities! - but eventually, when some things don’t work, you get more and more beaten down. Feeling depressed, not good enough, and like you’re just wasting your time –
All of which puts you into a negative mindset.
And we all know that a negative mind = a negative reality.
So what you MUST do instead is to set your money goal each month/week/day, ask for it, claim it as being a done deal, and then back off. This is the important part. This is where most people fuck up - they try to figure out HOW to make it happen.
The HOW doesn’t matter
The HOW doesn’t matter
THE HOW DOESN’T FREAKIN’ MATTER
Do you REALLY care if you receive the money from a new client or if you receive a random check in the mail from the government, saying you over-paid on your taxes?
Would you be UPSET if you received $5,000 from a new client instead of from an event you are hosting?
Does WHERE the money come from really matter? Likely not. So stop putting such limits on yourself by trying to figure out the HOW in relation to your money goals.
My actual process for manifesting money is simple. So simple I kind of feel dumb even talking about it. But here it is:
- Step 1: Write out your desires and what they will cost financially.
- Step 2: Decide on money goal for the month/week/day.
- Step 3: Ask for what you want, state it in your journal as already being done.
- Step 4: Get into the mindset of the person who has already hit that money goal - how would she act/speak/BE? - do the same!
- Step 5: Pay attention (listen closely!) for inspired thoughts on the path you need to take to make this goal happen, and act on them.
It’s also important to mention that through this 5-step process, these things will likely happen:
YOU’LL DOUBT YOURSELF & YOUR ABILITIES
Your goal will seem too big, you’ll wonder why anyone would ever pay you “that much” money, you’ll get scared that people will think you’re a fraud, you’ll worry that people won’t get results working with you, and through all of this, you’ll try to talk yourself out of asking for “so much” money.
YOU’LL BE TOLD THAT YOU’RE CRAZY
More often than not, you will appear crazy to most people, and a lot of them will tell you that. They will try to force that doubt (THEIR doubt) onto you, filling your head with all kinds of negative money beliefs. You have to make a conscious effort to ignore those messages and focus only on the energy of creating what you desire.
YOU’LL MISS MORE GOALS THAN YOU’LL HIT
This is why it’s important to set many goals, in many areas - because most of the goals you set, you will never hit. But! You may come close. And that’s better than setting no goal at all, and keeping your income really low because you’re being “safe” with your goals, right? Don’t be discouraged by goals not hit, as it only means you’re THAT MUCH closer to hitting that goal next time.
One other important thing for you to understand about this whole money thing is –
Making money is easy. I mean REALLY fucking easy. You can go from flat broke to millionaire in just a few years (if not less, which I have several friends that have done). But in order for it to be easy, you have to allow it to be easy. You have to decide that it’s easy and then allow it to be so.
And once you do that, the money flow kicks up and you find yourself receiving money in bigger and bigger amounts, and you come to realize (once you give yourself a few minutes to think about it!) –
Damn, this was the easiest money I’ve ever made.
And when you notice this, and appreciate this, and FEEL good about this, and call in MORE of this –
It just keeps continuing to happen.
The flow of money never stops. It’s easy and effortless to receive money, in larger and larger amounts.
It actually becomes FUN to make money.
I make money while in the sky.
I make money while I sleep.
I make money while I’m playing at the park with my kids.
I make money while I’m eating lunch.
I make money while I’m journaling.
I make money while I’m working with clients.
I make money while I’m out with friends.
I make money while I’m living life.
It’s not surprising for me to log in to my email account and see multiple payment notifications daily. Most of the time, I don’t even know what the money is from (I could check, of course, but the point is that it’s become so EASY for me to receive money daily, that half of the time, I have to really think about where money came from when it comes in).
This happens because I –
A) Decided I wanted money to flow easily.
B) Regularly ask for what I want and declare it as done.
C) Act on my inspired thoughts/ideas immediately.
DECIDE. ASK. DECLARE. ACT.
We’ll call it the DADA System. HA!
Remember this: It is easy for you to receive money. It is easy for you to receive A LOT of money. It is easy for you to receive a lot of money DAILY.
The question is: Do you want it to be easy?
