One of the biggest mistakes I’ve ever made in my business is seeking answers from others.
I joined program after program, hired mentor after mentor, watched training after training - YEARNING for the answer. The big answer. The path. The BLUEPRINT.
I wanted someone to say: Do this and get that.
I wanted steps that guaranteed an outcome.
But what I realized through doing this for over a decade, is that this simply doesn’t work. I mean, it CAN work; you can totally follow a great plan and have it work for you, but the WAY it works, may not be the way you want it to work.
Meaning:
If you’re asking someone ELSE what to do, you’re doing what THEY want you to do, which will eventually lead to you feeling resentful, even if what you’re doing is getting the results that you desire –
Because you’re doing it in a way that doesn’t feel 100% right to YOU.
I want to share with you something that has absolutely changed my entire life and business, okay?
Once I stopped letting outside influences dictate my actions, I found success.
I made more money.
I grew my business more quickly.
I had more fun.
I was able to get things done faster.
I enjoyed myself a lot more.
I was impacting more people.
Everything felt so EASY.
I learned that all of the answers I am ever seeking are always inside of ME. No one knows the right answer except for me.
This doesn’t mean I don’t need support. I still love and crave support and always work with mentors and do work on my mindset and business and LIFE –
But that’s all it is: Support. It isn’t ANSWERS. It isn’t VALIDATION. It isn’t APPROVAL.
And my life runs more smoothly because of that. 🙂
There is nothing that you’re wondering that you don’t already have the answer to. The problem is that you’re asking someone ELSE for the answer instead of going within and asking your soul.
And I get that this kind of statement is pretty bold and gutsy and what the fuck ever –
Except it’s true. So I don’t really care who wants to believe me or not, in all honesty. 🙂 Those that believe will get the results of course, and those results will speak for themselves!
Now, like I was saying earlier - YES, you can get results by following someone else’s plan! You can make a fuckton of money doing this, grow massive communities, and so on and so forth. This is totally possible and many people are already doing it. So yes, OF COURSE it works!
You don’t have to do ANYTHING except execute the plan.
There’s just one small catch:
You don’t get to have any say.
Don’t like webinars? Too bad, you’ve gotta do 3 a week.
Hate being in front of the camera? Too bad, you need to show that face daily.
Want to talk about something super fun you did today? Too bad, that has nothing to do with what you teach people, so you’re not allowed.
The trouble with following someone else’s plan is that you need to do it their way, and not yours. And this often leads to you eventually getting tired of it and walking away because you aren’t in love with your business anymore (or you suffer through it and just bitch and moan forever… not sure which one is worse!).
You want to go inside of yourself. You want to ask your soul for the answer.
“What do I really need to say today?”
“How do I want to feel today?”
“How do I want to show up today?”
“What do I really want to do today?”
“What is my next big offer?”
“How do I want to sell today?”
“Who do I want to engage with today and what do I want to say to them?”
These are all questions to ask YOURSELF.
Not your coach.
Not your acountability partner.
Not your best friend.
ASK YOURSELF.
The role of a best friend is to love you for being you, to do stupid shit with you, and to tell you how awesome you are all the time.
The role of an accountability partner is to encourage you, support you, and push you to be the best that you can be.
The role of a coach or mentor is to call you out on your bullshit, inspire you, and encourage you to think bigger. Not to give you some special step-by-step plan to riches.
The HOW doesn’t matter.
The WHAT doesn’t matter.
The WHERE or WHY or WHO doesn’t matter.
What matters is your soul and what it’s telling you.
What is your next move?
