PAY ATTENTION TO MONEY AND MONEY WILL PAY ATTENTION TO YOU AND YOU’LL MAKE WAY MORE OF IT

PAY ATTENTION TO MONEY AND MONEY WILL PAY ATTENTION TO YOU AND YOU’LL MAKE WAY MORE OF IT

Listen up. This is big.

Do you want to know a secret about money?

One that ALL of the wealthiest people in the world know to be true but everyone else is clueless about?

THE MORE YOU FOCUS ON MONEY, THE MORE YOUR MONEY WILL GROW.

You heard me right: focus on money and money will focus on you.

It doesn’t matter how far in debt you are, it doesn’t matter how much your expenses are right now, it doesn’t matter how big of a hole you feel you need to dig yourself out of –

You CAN turn things around.

But to do so, you MUST pay attention. Not to what you’re struggling with (debt, low income, etc.), but to what you WANT (abundance of money, freedom, etc.).

I remember sticking my head in the sand around my debt situation years back and bitch and moan about how broke I was, but I was never able to change that until I actually pulled my head out of the sand and LOOKED at the numbers and made a decision that enough was enough. Things were gonna change, NOW.

Yeah, it was scary. I couldn’t believe I’d accumulated as much debt as I did. I didn’t want to look at those numbers. I felt like I’d been punched in the stomach when I finally forced myself to add everything up.

But it was worth it.

Because then I KNEW. I just KNEW, okay, this is what it is. Now how am I going to do things differently so that it never happens again?

And that’s when I changed my entire lifestyle, got into couponing, then extreme couponing, then frugal as fuck, and didn’t have a penny of debt to my name.

(Obviously I no longer coupon and frugal isn’t a word I’d use to describe myself, but this phase of my life changed everything for me, financially, and I wouldn’t change a thing about it!)

I now pay attention to my money EVERY SINGLE DAY, no matter what’s going on.

If I’m sick
If I’m travelling
If I’m over-booked
If I’m really freakin’ busy
If I’m sleep-deprived
If I’m in a shitty mood

The money work ALWAYS gets done. Because I know that the second I stop paying attention to what’s going on is the second things start to take a turn for the worse (no, that’s not an exaggeration).

So each day, regardless of what I’ve got going on, I pull out my laptop, and this is what I do:

I TRACK MY INCOME FROM THE DAY BEFORE.

I mark down in a file on my computer how much money came in.

I mark down where the money came from.

I mark down the currency conversion (USD to CAD, since I’m in Canada).

I TRACK MY EXPENSES FROM THE DAY BEFORE.

I mark down how much money went out.

I mark down where the money went (what I paid for).

I mark down the currency conversion.

I TRACK MY MONEY GOAL AND HOW CLOSE I AM TO IT.

Each month I set a money goal, plus a weekly money goal, and often a daily money goal.

Every day, after going through my income and expenses, I mark down how close I am to my money goals (monthly, weekly, daily).

I mark down how much I still have to bring in to hit my goal.

I TRACK MY NET WORTH BASED ON YESTERDAY’S MONEY SITUATION.

I add up my debts and I add up my assets & cash and then subtract the debts to calculate my net worth.

I do this every day, even if the amount only moves by a few dollars. I like to watch my net worth grow, and I will also notice if it starts decreasing, which means I can investigate WHY, and then do something to turn things around.

I SET MY MONEY INTENTION FOR THE DAY.

Each morning, I set out my intention for money. This often includes me setting a money goal, but also –

I just affirm what I feel (or want to feel) about money. All of the good stuff.

Positive money affirmations, if you will. I do this to get me into a positive mindset around money.

Every day I pay attention.
Every day I say YES to knowing what’s happening with my money.
Every day I call in what I want.
Every day I make a decision to improve.

And when I do this, money flows to me easily and effortlessly.

I make money in my sleep.

I receive unexpected money from random people and companies.

I hit my income goals (and then some).

Making money becomes EASY. It becomes FUN. It becomes EXCITING.

I’d say that makes it worth spending some time each day paying attention to it, wouldn’t you?

Don’t forget –

You really can be, do and have EVERYTHING you want. Say YES to you!

xx,
Cassie
