Hey there! I spent around $1,000 and made $985 a few hours later! Let me give you a bit of a backstory: Just over a year ago, I was running a successful couponing blog. I was dubbed the “Queen of Coupons” and the “Queen of Frugal”. Everything I did revolved around saving money. Need new shoes? Where can I get the best deal? Need more toothpaste? Where can I get it for free with sales and coupons? It was exciting for the first few years I was this way, but eventually, I just got really tired of it. Tired of always scrimping and saving, tired of NEVER having enough money for the things and experiences I wanted, tired of spending all my waking hours clipping coupons and deal hunting, just to save a bit of cash. So, I just stopped. Stopped with the coupons. Stopped looking for deals. I just stopped. Everything. Around that time, I was working in a group program with a business coach that was helping me to get my coaching business off the ground, and she taught me about manifesting and “living as if”. As if I was already making the money I wanted to make. As if I was already my idea of successful. As if I was already happy with my work. And so I jumped right in with both feet. I started living my life as if I already had all the things I wanted. I was way more grateful. For my health, my family, a bill that just got paid in full, a new fan on my...

I have to lie in bed with my leg out to the side or I can’t sleep. I have a “graveyard scene” of pet animals that have died tattooed on my back. Growing up I had an invisible friend named Martin. I still talk to him sometimes. I always have to know what time it is or I get super paranoid that I’m going to miss an important event (like sleep). I give myself hand massages almost every day because it calms me down when I feel stressed. Even though I ran a really successful six-figure blog for 7 years, I’ve always hated blogging. I buy myself a gift every time I buy someone else a gift. Even if I’m just buying them something small. I don’t like an empty email inbox. It makes me feel like no one likes me. I menu plan every week, but usually only eat half the meals I plan to make. I HATE shopping with a passion - except grocery shopping. I could grocery shop for hours. I play a game with myself every time I’m paying for groceries at the store by trying to guess, down to the penny, what my total will be. I usually sleep in bed for a few hours and then move to the couch in the living room every night because I *think* I have restless leg syndrome and don’t want to annoy my husband with my twitching. I once was on the Tyra Banks TV show to talk about working in the adult industry. Even though I’m not religious, Christmas is my favourite holiday of all...

When I start talking about sales with my clients, a lot of them stop the conversation and try to change the subject. The more I talk about sales, the more uncomfortable they seem to get. Turns out, they just really hate selling. When I asked one of my clients why they hated selling, they said this: “It feels dirty, like I’m a car salesman trying to sell someone a car way above their means“. My other clients had similar responses. I did some snooping around online and found that many people (mostly women) felt that selling was either dirty or too hard (or both). Sound like you, too? Because sales is a CRUCIAL part of your success at having a six-figure (and higher) business, I’m going to share with you three ways that sales can be a part of your business that doesn’t have to suck. Way #1: Remember why you’re selling. Don’t think of selling as taking money from someone else. Think of it as helping someone else (and getting paid for it). Selling = Helping. As long as you’re honest with yourself and a potential customer, and you’re only selling them something they truly need and that can help them, then that transaction does not have to feel dirty. You are being paid to help someone else. And that’s 100% okay. Way #2: Choose your customers wisely. Not all clients/customers are created equal and you want to make sure that the people you’re attracting to your business and that buy from you, are people you actually want to work with and can help. If you’re just selling to people to make...

If you don’t have clients right now, or you don’t have as many as you’d like, I’m willing to bet that this is the reason why: YOU’RE LOOKING IN ALL THE WRONG PLACES. Sure, you’re probably looking on Facebook. You’re probably emailing your list. And you’re probably telling everyone in your family who will listen to you about what you do. But the clients just aren’t coming as fast and furious as you’d like. Here’s what you do: Step #1: Believe SO many women skip this step and that is such a huge mistake because I truly believe that if you skip it, you will not ever hit the level of success that you want. So - first things first - you need to believe in yourself. You need to believe that you have what it takes to live the life you want. That you are worth the amount of money you charge. That you’re good at what you do. Success is 99% inner work, and part of that inner work is the belief that the life you want is MEANT for you. Step #2: Clarity Make sure you know EXACTLY who you want to be working with and how you can help them. Get super, super clear on who this person is. Then, brainstorm ways to find her/him. Where do they hang out? Online? Offline? Facebook - pages or groups? Which ones? What hashtags do they follow on Twitter and Instagram? What are their favourite Periscope accounts? What blogs do they read? Come up with a list of places your ideal client is spending time and then GO...

A lot of people get into business knowing what they want to do and how they want to make money, but they have no clue how to position themselves as an expert that actually gets paid for their services. Because let’s face it, if you’re not considered an expert, it’s gonna be damn hard to get anyone to hand you their hard-earned cash. The good news? It’s not that hard to position yourself as an expert. Here are 3 ways you can become known: #1 Be REALLY good at one thing. As a business owner, I’m sure you’re really good at loads of different things - and that’s great. But if you want to be known as an expert, you need to be really good at just ONE thing, not EVERY thing. For example, I’m a business consultant/coach, and I can help you with a ton of different aspects of growing a successful business. But where my specialties really lie are with marketing and visibility. Perhaps you’re a health coach that’s really good at meal prep. Or a website designer that’s fantastic at getting designs done quickly. Find your one thing and be really good at that. #2 Keep your branding seamless. All of your social media profiles and your website should have consistent branding throughout. That means the same profile photo, the same logos, the same colors, the same image styles, the same language (copy) - everything should be the same across all profiles and sites. Having seamless branding is just one more way to show people you are an expert at what you do. #3 Become the...
