THE WAY YOU THINK IT IS THE WAY YOU SAY IT

THE WAY YOU THINK IT IS THE WAY YOU SAY IT

I was talking to a client earlier and something came up that I find is a common “problem” for most people, especially LEADERS –

Not wanting to say the wrong thing at the wrong time.

Also: Not wanting to offend anyone.

I had to physically restrain myself from slaming down the phone, after releasing a loud SIGH. “Really? This again?”, I thought to myself. “Why don’t people get it? How can I explain this in a way that penetrates their mind so that it STICKS?”

She went on to say “I have to take the time to make sure I say it right”… to which I blurted out “there is no RIGHT way to say it - you just open up your mouth and let it out!”

Which brings me to another issue: CONTENT. Let me make this clear: Content is not something you create. Content is created by being who you ARE. Therefor, content can’t ever be an issue.

You can’t ever wait, or put your business on hold, or “do it later” - that would require you to wait to THINK. And that’s simply impossible.

You have 50,000-70,000 thoughts every day. There’s no way that you can shut those thoughts off. They’re gonna happen whether you want them to or not.

Sharing who you are, is content.
Sharing what think, is content.
Sharing what you’re doing, is content.
Sharing what you believe, is content.

And how do you share that content, exactly? YOU SAY IT THE WAY YOU THINK IT.

My “secret” to creating content all day, every day is that whenever I have a thought that I think “ooh, that’s good”, my unspoken rule is that I have to say it out loud (written or by video/livestream).

So, of course, you’re not going to share all 50,000+ of your thoughts. You’re going to share the ones that make you feel “OMG YES!”, of which there are probably at least half a dozen each day.

Don’t write these thoughts down and tell yourself that you’ll get to them later (you won’t). Don’t try to figure out the “right” way to say them (there isn’t one). Don’t wait until it’s a “good time” to sit down and say what you think (or you’ll be waiting forever).

You must speak the thoughts when you have the thoughts. No waiting.

Now I know what you’re thinking –

“But Cassie, what if I have these thoughts at a time when I’m busy?!”

To which I say – “So? Say them anyway. The thing about these thoughts it’s that they are fleeting. They are quick little thoughts that you get based on how you’re feeling.

You’re likely not going to have that same thought later tonight, or even in an hour from now. You’re feeling it now, the thought came now - SAY IT now.”

You can stop what you’re doing for the 5 minutes it will take you to write up a quick post or record a super short video. Think of all the 5 minutes you waste doing stupid shit during the day. What if, instead, you filled those 5 minute moments, with you speaking up and sharing your truth?

What do you think would happen if you did that?

How do you think your community would evolve if you did that?

How do you think your business would transform if you did that?

Don’t use the “I don’t have time” excuse as to why you’re not showing up every day. That’s a fucking cop out and you know it. You have time, you’re just choosing to spend that time on other things.

Which means you’re not passionate about what you’re doing. Not as much as is required in order for this to be a success, anyway.

Maybe you’re passionate about your mission, your message, your dreams. What you’re not passionate about is being the face of it all. And the only reason why you wouldn’t be passionate about that is because you aren’t allowing yourself to fully RELEASE.

Release your thoughts
Release your feelings
Release your beliefs
Release your opinions

If you are giving yourself the opportunity to FULLY release all of those things, then you get lit up with emotion. The passion that was once there, but disappeared when you went silent, starts to come back.

And the more you do it, the more you realease, the better you will feel (which leads to you wanting to show up and create and simply BE more).

Am I making sense?

This is all so crystal clear in my head but sometimes I feel like I’m not saying it in a way that will get through to people that are reading. 🙂

To simplify: SAY WHAT YOU THINK, AND SAY IT EXACTLY HOW YOU THINK IT. Do this every day, whenever you feel a super strong emotion related to what you’re thinking.

In case you weren’t aware, you will NEVER grow a tribe of raving fans if you’re not being yourself and showing your true self (beliefs/opinions and all!) consistently, day after day.

This shouldn’t feel like work. It should feel like an emotional release, every time you say something, which should feel GOOD!

If it doesn’t, I encourage you to examine whether or not you’re being truly authentic.
